Yeah. It isn't a performance objective in every state. Moreover, there are teachers and districts that ignore their state standards.

Apparently. High schools exist in Kansas. You learn about it sophomore year here.

Depends. I live in California and students are told that just because they teach evolution doesn't mean you have to believe it. Keep that in mind. Also Christian private schools I believe don't teach it.

I hope you can't get a high school diploma without learning when to use the word 'the' properly.

The 'Evolution of the species' is a relatively minor side note to genetics and biology. Genetic Variation happens all the time and should be taught everywhere.

You can get a high school diploma in this country without even knowing how to spell. The United States is one of the dumbest countries in the world, and each year we're getting dumber. And the education systems are being forced to lower the standard for passing grades. Before you know it we'll be flinging poo at each other and texting our homework assignments to the teacher, all in chat speak.

Yes, unfortunately, there are high schools in the US that don't teach evolution. Some teachers as well ignore the state standards and not teach evolution, which is very bias.

Unfortunately, it is probably quite possible, which is sad, because evolution is one of the more amazing intellectual breakthroughs of the last several centuries. It has forced people throughout the literate community to reconsider many of their preconceptions. I suppose that there are people who are so terrified of the idea that they would rather be ignorant than understand evolution. I feel sorry for them, because they are letting their fear control and restrict the way they think. Sad. Very sad.

Absolutely. I was "educated" in the SDA school system through high school and attended Andrews University for 2 years until I had had quite enough. I first came to the powerful and beautiful, and for me, spiritual explanations of evolutionary theory only 6 years ago while first reading "the Blind Watchmaker". This fall I will be attending Western Michigan University to study molecular biology to satisfy a thirst. I am 49.

yea just dont go to class when they are teaching it and say the reason for your absents is because your religion doesnt believe in evolution
