why would't most private schools in USA offer school buses for students?

Because the pupils don't all live in the same catchment area as they would for a public school.
2 :
I assume that it's because with private schools, the students come from all over -- sometimes from many miles away. With public schools, the students are all in one district or similar locations.
3 :
Private schools are not oftern confined to one geographic part of a city. It presents problems, both logistical and financial, to provide busing.
4 :
I find that most private schools have students from different areas of the city. They are too far disbursted for the school to provide transportation. For example, Iona prep, a school in West Chester New York has students that live in Connecticut and commute everyday. Also this is probably a expense that some of the smaller private schools just cant handle or have spent the money in other places such as better teachers.
5 :
YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE DRIVER + GAS + MAINTANCE + INSURANCE, FOR EACH BUS. IT WOULD ADD UP V/QUICK
6 :
You'll probably find that students at a private school don't live in a small geographic area, so it would either take a long time for a single bus to pick everyone up (do you want to put your child out at the bus stop 90 minutes before school?) or they have to issue several buses to cover the needed areas. You then have to consider the costs of purchasing and maintaining the buses, hiring qualified drivers, and paying for the rising cost of gas. I'm aware of several private schools that have bus service, and they charge participating families the cost of running the service. In some areas, several families have found it cheaper to hire a private car service rather than use the provided bus.

Liberals don't like for anyone to fail or drop out or get kicked out so they keep these people in school and lower standards so it looks like everyone is doing good, but when these kids get to college they realize how bad their schools actually were
2 :
we're getting dumber, you can blame the 60's generation baby boomers for that
3 :
stupid unmotivated kids, poor teacher salaries ...
4 :
Sad. Sad. Sad. I want my tax dollars back!

After a heavy night of drinking at the local bar, a drunk stumbles into a Catholic church and slowly makes his way into the confessional booth. There, the priest patiently awaits the man to begin his confession. After a few minutes of silence, the priest politely taps on the window... nothing. The priest taps again and this time clears his throat a bit... still nothing. At this point the priest begins to lose his patience and bangs on the window. Finally the dunk yells out... "Ain't no use knocking, there ain't no paper over here either!"
6 :
They are terrible.
7 :
I think there is a general lack of motivation to do well with students. So, I think it is mainly the students, the materials and teachers are fine.
8 :
its hard to be intelligent when students are more worried about how to get on facebook than they are about learning
9 :
I feel like the school systems push kids through without giving a proper education. no ramifications for failure cause students not to care. this may be far fetched, but kids these days are getting involved in drugs, alcohol, and sex at a much younger age. Teen Pregnancy is through the roof which i imagine cause a lot of drop outs.

The school system is severely flawed, in my humble opinion. I think they have removed far too many activities that were seen as fluff, but are actually beneficial to the students (activities like art, music and p.e.). Also, towards middle and high school, students are not given enough guidance as far as career options as well as the opportunity to mini test some of these options (example: shadow an engineer, teacher, nurse, and so on for a day or something like that). We focus more on what people can reproduce on a test than we do on what they can actually apply to life and therefore the education that today's kids are receiving is perceived by many of them as irrelevant to what they want to do in the future. It is hard for them to make that connection.
11 :
I think the School System needs a major overhaul
12 :
It's bad, especially when they revised all of the History books and they do not want to discipline the kids!! :-)

Nope, no matter where you completed a high school degree you can attend college in the USA (as long as your grades permit so). Be aware though that studying abroad รข€“ especially in the USA can be extremely expensive, tuition prices are much higher for those who are not citizens.
